Matt Maglodi Racing Launches Sponsorship Program Pairing Small Businesses with Grassroots Racers
Mooresville, N.C.-based Matt Maglodi Racing is rolling out a new sponsorship model aimed at connecting small businesses with amateur motorsports drivers, set to launch September 1, 2026. Sponsorship tiers will run roughly $200–$400 per month.
Rather than the standard “logo on the car” arrangement common in grassroots racing, the program bundles trackside exposure with digital marketing extras — social media promotion, sponsor features, photo and video content, and business mentions online.
The idea comes from Matt Maglodi, founder of the racing program and of digital marketing agency Online Advantages, who wanted to combine his marketing background with his own racing involvement. According to Maglodi, amateur racers often struggle to cover costs like tires, fuel, and entry fees, while small businesses frequently can’t afford full marketing campaigns — his program is designed to let both sides support each other.
Two early sponsors have already joined: Online Advantages itself, and Cottage Grove Bakery, a local bakery in the Lake Norman area. More sponsor announcements are expected as additional partnerships are finalized.
Beyond Matt Maglodi Racing, the concept could eventually extend to other grassroots motorsports categories — including autocross, karting, motocross, and club racing — where competitors typically cover most costs out of pocket.
This is a niche but interesting experiment in sponsorship: instead of big-budget NASCAR-style deals, it’s targeting the kind of small, local businesses that usually can’t afford traditional marketing spend. Whether $200–$400/month for a mix of trackside exposure and social content proves worthwhile for sponsors will likely depend on execution once the program launches in September — worth checking back on for early sponsor results.
